Roadtrip 2014: Vancouver - Yakima - Boise - Provo - Flagstaff - Tucson - Palm Springs - Paso Robles - Sacramento - Eureka - Bandon - Seaside - Vancouver

Day 29 - Tucson Mountain, San Xavier

The Black Helicopters appear once more over Tucson, this time deploying what we think is their new airborne mind control antenna. Get out the tinfoil hats!

A few minutes later, just about everyone in Tucson starts thinking, "Five!". Five what? The Jackson Five? Looks like the new mind control antenna needs some work.

Critter of the day - Fly has tracked Russ down - now where's that red shirt?

The stupendous view from Gates Pass. Never mind the enormous pile of cig butts and broken glass.

Our lonely, lonely truck waay down in the parking lot.

Just for Tena. It seems wherever you go - you can't escape the mindless idiocy.

Around the back of Gates Pass, in a little valley, is this fort. It's a bit of a scramble through a thicket of prickly pears to reach. We think it's an old research lab related to the Black Helicopters.

The research scientists arrive with the late afternoon light. They dress and behave like common folk - but you can burn right through the cover.

The amazingly beautiful San Xavier Mission. The church closed just as we arrived, so we'll have to visit again to get inside.

Broken remnant. She appears destined for the discard pile - somehow doesn't seem quite right.

Moonrise San Xavier.

A race to the moonrise.

Celebrating San Xavier.

Offerings decorate the gate.

Guardians of the grotto.

A quiet ask.

Moonrise, San Xavier.
